Alternatives to Bootcamp-Insights
Unfortunately, parents are sometimes
confronted with the tough decision of sending their troubled teenage son to a
boot camp for troubled boys. Quite often this is the only solution, because
reasoning, talking and punishment fail to work. The very thought of sending
your son to one of these camps could be frightening and heart-wrenching.
However, at times it is best to face the simple fact that once your child is
showing destructive behaviors and going down the wrong path, the schools for
troubled boys could become a lifesaver.
In many cases these camps will not be an
option, but an alternate solution. In case your son is having problems with the
law, a judge might permit him to go boot camp instead of doing jail time. Many
law and court officials don't wish to see young people destroying their life so
they prefer to see them rehabilitated at this camp instead of during jail time.
While boy's boot camp is shown to have a
higher success rate, it's important that parents examines carefully whether or
not this is the best solution for their child. Young males who are emotionally
troubled might not reap the benefits of this kind of rehabilitation. However,
counseling services might be much more beneficial. Teenagers who have a problem
when it comes to respecting authority, yet haven't acted out might also benefit
more from counseling. In many cases, the camp is only going to get them to
resent authority much more and develop more hatred. Teenagers who are acting in
destructive ways might benefit tremendously from these camps. Respect and
discipline will be taught and by using strenuous training techniques these
troubled teenagers will understand how to control their actions.
